Established in 1950, Pedders has grown to develop, manufacture and distribute their own brand of shock absorbers, steering, suspension and brakes from over 120 stores nationwide and exports internationally. Looking to reduce their energy consumption and carbon emissions, Cherry Energy Solutions was chosen as their partner in sustainability after a comprehensive and detailed tender process.
Safety procedures were paramount as some panels were to be installed within 2 meters of a live edge. Pedders were keen on monitoring systems to keep track of their energy generation and performance. Cherry had a strict deadline to complete the installations by summer in order to take advantage of the sun and longer daylight hours.
Edge Protection was used to ensure installers and staff on site were safe at all times. Cherry worked with Pedders to set up a monitoring platform on a stable internet connection and guided the Pedders team on reading and understanding the monitoring information. The systems were installed on time, to Pedder’s satisfaction.
Pedders now generate renewable energy across 5 company-owned stores that will collectively produce 127.840kWh, save $24,344 and mitigate 121.624 kg CO2 annually!
