With a strong focus on sustainability, PVNPS were eager to reduce their carbon footprint and energy bills while improving the learning environment.
With over 400 light fittings throughout the school and operating hours that coincide with the sun, switching to solar energy and upgrading their light fittings to LED made perfect sense.
Cherry Energy Solutions recommended a combination of T8 LED Tubes and 17W Recessed Downlights as well as LED Floodlights and LED Exit Lights to replace the school’s old fluorescent lights. The new LED lights will lead to a reduction in energy expenditure of 66% and have dramatically improved the learning environments for both staff and students.
Due to a large range of the Cherry LED lights being approved under the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target scheme, the school received government rebates of over $2,000 to help towards the cost of the upgrade. In addition, the school received over $1,500 from the City of Moreland’s Light$mart program.
