Ensuring optimum working environments is high priority for DLA Piper worldwide, and with lighting accounting for 66% of their Melbourne office’s total energy expenditure, it was an easy decision to upgrade to LED lighting.
The old 24W fluorescent T8 Tube fittings were replaced with 32W 600×600 Cherry LED Troffers. In addition, custom-made 500×500 Return Air LED Troffers were used to replace non-standard Troffer fittings previously installed.
In total, over 1,000 Cherry LED lights were installed, leading to a reduction in energy expenditure of 67%. The ambience in the office environment was significantly improved and flickering lights have become a thing of the past.
Alongside the enormous annual energy savings, with the lifetime of the Cherry LEDs at over 50,000hrs, DLA Piper will save over $15,000 every year on maintenance costs for replacing and repairing lights.
