The situation

McDonald’s Altona was seeking ways to improve the overall ambiance of the dining area whilst upgrading to LED lighting to save on their electricity bills.
The long operating hours of the store were resulting in high energy biils and the old halogen and fluorescent lights were causing unnecessary maintenance costs.
Energy efficient, long lasting, reliable LED lighting was recommended to improve the in store experience and reduce electricity bills. Situated in the municipality of the City of Hobsons Bay, McDonald’s Altona were perfectly positioned to access local government rebates available due a partnership with Cherry.

The solution

Over 300 LED lights, a combination of Cherry LED tubes, high performance downlights and floodlights, were installed. This resulted in average energy savings on lighting of 66% for the McDonald’s Altona store.
In addition, the overall ambiance of the store has been significantly improved.
